My parents took me here when I was about 10-12 yrs old. As I stood at the high water mark it was if I could still hear the guns. I have been back many times since, and have taken my kids, it is their favorite vacation destination. Yes I can still almost hear the guns to this very day. An amazing place every American should visit.

It's an amazing experience to take a step out onto the battlefield and walk where the soldiers did 150 years ago. It's hard to imagine that so many men fought and died there - it blows my mind every time I think about it.

My dad and I take a trip to Gettysburg every 2 years and we are in awe of the place. I try and read up on the battle between trips so that when I go there I can explore a new section of the battlefield as it's too big to see in just one visit.

Last time I was there I stood at the spot where General Reynolds died and a chill went up my spine as if I could see it all happening before my eyes.

I highly-recommend that anyone with even a vague interest in the battle have a visit and build their own experiences.
